Disabled Sensors continue to update LastDetectedEntity
I have noticed that, if a Sensor Block is disabled while it is actively detecting something, calling LastDetectedEntity on that Sensor Block will not only continue to return updated data on the last detected entity, but the data itself will continue to update. Interestingly enough, it also continues to update even if that entity is no longer within the sensor range of that sensor.
Discovered this while working on a script to manage an "arm" based contraption that moves using hinges and rotors. For testing purposes, used a sensor to get a dynamic position I wouldn't have to manually input: the player's position. After disabling the sensor, the arm continued to track my position out hundreds of meters, despite the sensor range being set to only 20 meters out, and the sensor being turned off.
Hello, Michael,
thanks for sharing this issue with us. However, I was not able to reproduce it in the game itself. Is there a way how to see if/what it breaks in the game itself? Or is this issue visible just from code/modding?
If one can see it happening in the game, can you share steps to reproduce?
Reading you were modding the game by yourself... are you sure it´s issue in vanilla game as well? With no mods loaded and running?
Thanks for any more info in advance.
Kind Regards
