Crash to Desktop on connecting to dedicated server

Mimic shared this bug 3 years ago
Won't Fix

I get an inconsistent crash to desktop when connecting to my dedicated server.

I am running some mods but I get the same crash after removing all of the mods. Typically the crash does not show up in the log, so I don't have a good log showing the rash with out mods.

The crash does not always occur on joining the server for the first time after launching SE. The crash happens frequently on the 2nd, 3rd... reconnection.

I have tried reinstalling SE and clearing all SE files from programData and appData. I have tried clearing the shader cache. I have updated my graphics drivers. I have done a clean reinstall of the most recent recommended graphics drivers. I have no overclocking on my GPU. I have tried with minimum graphics settings with Vsync both on and off.

The problem still persists.

Hello, Engineer!

Unfortunately we are unable to reproduce your issue. Please try to do these steps before trying to join the server again:

  • Verify your game files
  • Try to run the game with clean Space Engineers folder in %appdata% (make backup before deleting)
  • Update your GPU drivers
  • Update your Windows

We also encountered crash when having too many servers in favorite list. So if you trying to join the server from favorites, delete all other favorites servers from the list and try again.

Let us know if any of these helped.

Kind Regards

Hello,

I have verified my game files.

I have run the game with a clean space engineers by deleting the space engineers appdata folder.

I have updated my GPU drivers

my Windows already has the latest updates.

I have only one server in my favorites, my locally hosted server.

I join my server using the IP, not favorites list. 127.0.0.1 (Locally hosted)

I am still getting this crash.
