Crash - no longer connected to terminal?

Situation:

Left game running, alked away from PC for a good while, character at facility inventory menu.

Came back to a message along the lines of the terminal is no longer connected, then ctd.

On reload, suit battery is low, so what I speculate happened is that battery zeroed while I was away, I died, and this triggered a crash?

running as whole bunch of mods,
