conveyor system doesn't update if connecting the same grid through a subgrid

Solved

I have made a scenario to demonstrate the problem: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2384950489

simply removing/changing any conveyor block on the grid triggers an update but doesn't fix the underlying problem.

Hello Jushdrug!

Sorry that you are having issues. Could you please elaborate on the problem you are having? I really appreciate the scenario being posted but it wasn't quite apparent to me the problem you are having, I do apologise.

the piston pushes the hinge to the Hinge part which is then supposed to connect letting the gas through but instead nothing happens unless you, for example place and then remove a conveyor block which then forces a refresh. after that and without changing anything else the gas will pass through like expected this should clearly indicate a fault in the code. this also works the other way around (gas going through after disconnect) and with any kind of subgrid (adv. rotor, two hinges, etc.). maybe the scenario didn't work as intended because it should show the the thruster burning while the connnection wasn't there. i think i might have set up the timers wrong just try it manually, then it should work (it definitly has in my testing).9034015d3775c0bb262b189daf43dc2d

Hello Jushdrug!

Thank you. So for me, this is already burning when I load the file as mentioned. If I place a conveyor block, it will then stop burning. I can remove the conveyor but it will not burn again. Am I understanding this correctly? I appreciate it's a bit backwards to how you originally intended but that conveyor for some reason is stopping the burning? Just to double-check :)

the core of the problem is that disconnecting the hinge doesn't refresh the system (ie just keeps burning). both placing or removing the a conveyor will work as it is only used to force a refresh as a temporary workaround. I have updated the scenario to simplify it and turn it into a simple test case. thank you for your time.

Hello Jushdrug!

Thank you for the further explanation and for updating the scenarios (very impressive!) I now understand. I have successfully reproduced and reported this internally for you :)
