Controller input overlay is not completely correct
Solved
Ok this will be difficult to describe.
I want to play with a XBOX Controller. Sometimes it's working completely fine. But after a few minutes I have the problem that the program thinks that my primary input device is the mouse. So if do nothing the overlay/HUD (not sure what the right word is) has the look of a mouse input. At the bottom in the middle there is no wheel shown but the bar for the keyboard input. If I'm in the menu the symbols change all the time very quickly. I hope you know what I mean😅
Does someone has a solution which works all the time and not only a few minutes?
Thanks in advance
Hello, Lucas!
Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Could you please confirm which Xbox controller you are using? I have tested this with my Series X/S controller and I do not see a change after a few minutes when it is connected. It almost sounds like after a few minutes you have nudged the mouse and that has taken over again (although appreciate you haven't!) Could you try right-clicking on Space Engineers in Steam and making sure 'Disable Steam Input' is selected, sometimes this has been known to cause interference. The other thing to try although a little more drastic would be to unplug the keyboard and see if the same thing happens. Then plug that back in and unplug the mouse and see if the same thing happens. If one of them is causing some sort of interference at least we will identify which one :) I say this because although you mention it thinking your primary input device is the mouse, it could be either the keyboard or mouse triggering it I assume? Please let me know how you get on :)
Kind Regards
