Cockpit Client Crash

Doktor shared this bug 2 years ago
Won't Fix

I know this has been an issue in the past and it's been something we've just gotten used to, but I'd love to see it fixed. On both private/unmodded saves, modded saves, and on modded torch instance servers we've had problems where entering a cockpit for the first time that was just printed out will either disconnect you from the server or kick you from that save or outright crash your game altogether.

I have a modded world save where it's almost a 100% kick rate both on single player and on server. (I've attached mine and another players logs after we both crashed at different times)

After testing it on server I created a new completely Vanilla world save. I built new grids in it and printed them out in the same manner I was before. My very first attempt crashed my game. Those logs are attached. I have NOT been able to recreate the crash on that save yet even after changing up the print process I was using.

I will next make another brand new vanilla world and test it again and provide those logs if it happens.

Hello, Matthew!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. If we can focus on no mods as this is what we will need to test with. Can you please supply a copy of a save file with no mods included? I see that your non-modded log has a mod error as if it is looking for the mod which may be causing the issue. Could you also clarify what you mean by 'printed out?' As I'm not quite sure what you mean.

Please create the original scenario without any mods and then please supply this save file? Please also supply steps for reproducing the issue :)

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards

Hello, Engineer!

Because there is no new comment from you, and we are unable to reproduce the issue on our own, I will close this thread now as outdated.

If you or any other player will experience this issue again, please make a new thread and provide all needed info there.

Thank you for understanding.

Kind Regards
