Client/Server sim speed difference causes player damage when walking into walls
So, I was playing on xocliw's stream server, and here's a situation I ran into:
I would walk (or run) around, and if I ran into a wall or other block, I would take damage.
Walking, or running, should be slow enough that doesn't happen.
One thing of note, was the server was at Sim 1.0, but my local client sim was 0.5-0.6. The grid I was in was a static station on the ground.
It seems the discrepancy in sim speeds causes issues for prediction, like I'm predicted as going faster than I am or something. I was also flying at a fairly low rate of speed (<20 m/s) another time, and ran into something and died. I don't know my exact speed, but it didn't seem fast enough to warrant a death sentance. :-)
