Character drill - switching to it causes tool to drift over view

Solved

I have all 3 elite tools, Welder, Grinder, and Drill. When I switch to the drill after having the welder in my hand, the picture of the welder in front of me (1st person view) drifts upward and takes up almost the whole screen. It's almost as if I had hit "alt" and panned down, so I'm looking down toward my chest, but that is not the case.

I noticed that when I switch to the drill from the grinder, this does not happen, and the drill animation looks correct.

This is a screenshot of the normal view of the drill (after switching from grinder)

Love the game!

The rifle (I have a MR-30E equipped) does the same thing as the drill - switching to the rifle from the welder causes it to drift up, but from the grinder or drill it does not.

Hello, Tim,

thanks for letting us know about this issue. It was indeed successfully reproduced and thus put into our internal system.

I've just filed a bug report, and afterwards found this. Sorry. The funny thing is, if I load one of my older games, the bug isn't there. Only newly started games. Perhaps the error is in the scenario itself?

I've had that bug in multiple scenarios, but also a custom space survival game, so I don't think it's scenario related. My current save isn't a scenario, and I see it all the time.

I'm having the same problem in multiplayer and in new games, so it's not scenario related. I think it's something related to animations moving the tool up when in use, but then not resetting the position after.
