This bug seems to be happening when a spawning, despawning or autosave happened. I usually see it when I go away and came back after at least one autosave.

The large grid in this world usually has this bug.


This video may be useful. Time the bug happened is in the description. Unfortunately, I didn't get the log file.

Also the sound in the background is a bug but I don't know how to reproduce it. It was reported I think.

I had the same Problem. I got a wheeled base. It just exploded the moment a drop was spawn. I just heard that sound when a new drop is in range. And then, everything exploded. The whole base was gone, just one Wheel and some blocks survived. It looked like a meteor hit the base.

It also happens sometimes in our ds. Aapparently it is related to something in the simulation when the server has more than 15 players and it do an autosave or a new player is connected

We have the same problem, even at a lot less than 15 players (e.g. 3). In our case it started with one (completely unpowered), wheeled vehicle on handbrake flipping uncontrollably, then a second one exploded randomly and finally -not sure if that's still related - an array of 11 solar panels stopped providing power, despite being in direct sunlight (and the indicators on the solar panels being lit).


I have nothing but savegames before and after this occurence - if they could be helpful, I'll upload them somewhere.

Update: I have tested this again and apparently on the example of this vehicle (which explodes reliably every time it is used as described below on a dedicated server): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=719332510


The vehicle works in the following way:

1. Lower the wheels (height offset) until the left landing gear touches the ground.

2. Lock the left landing gear to the ground

3. Unlock the landing gear which holds the drills

4. activate the drills and extend the pistons (usually at speed 0.05 - 0.1)

5. Once fully extended, deactivate the drills and reverse the pistons

6. Lock the pistons in place with the right landing gear

7. Unlock the left landing gear

8. Raise the wheels again


According to my tests this procedure causes the vehicle to explode (very fiercely) at step 7 on a dedicated server (4/4 attempts) but works as intended on single player. However, when restarting the server before unlocking (only tried between steps 6 and 7), the vehicle won't explode (I made a save right before it happened and restored it after the explosion).


I can also confirm, that the problem doesn't occur, when locking the landing gear to a station instead of voxels.

But as I mentioned, it doesn't happen for me after reloading the first save - only when the vehicle has also been locked in the same game session (I assume).

fixed in next minor update 187.1!

It was caused by the cluster reorder.
