Can't load save game file due to corruption

Ivan Cheung shared this bug 3 years ago
Reported

I was able to load Mission Five - Start game file before I accidentally deleted it from my PC. However, after I restored it, this saved game could not load due to file corruption. So I tried to fix the file corruption problem by using this tutorial: How to fix a corrupted world in space engineers - YouTube but I still got the game couldn't load due to file corruption error.

This is a screenshot of of the files I copied from file 2020-11-24 125248 in old directory to file The First-Jump, intended to be the default new directory for this saved game:

Hello, Ivan!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. Can you please supply the save file you are trying to load? This way we can have a look at it directly. Does it happen to use any mods at all?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards
