cannot use medkit "Item already used"

Won't Fix

When I want to consume a medkit from inventory or using the toolbar, I get the error message that I already used a medkit and need to wait. I did not use a medkit, however.

The energy kits work just fine. With them, I have to wait a bit after consuming one, and then I can consume the next.

I don't know what additional information could be helpful, so if you need something, i will add it later.

Hello, Paul!

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. I have tried to use medkits and successfully done so without this error message. Could you please supply a copy of the save (un-modded) in which you are experiencing this issue so that we can have a look?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

I've done some more testing and it only doesn't work if I am damaged and under 70 health, which is the point where I regenerate health slowly on the planet. I didn't test It in space. If this is the intended behavior, I definitely think it should be changed as the natural healing is way too slow for a combat situation.


Btw, there is a lot of stuff in the world that would have blown up if I had built it two years ago. Just wanted to thank you for your great work continually improving the game performance and physics.

Hello, Paul!

I have just tested this in your world and it says 'item already uses, wait until the previous effect ends' as it is still refilling the health but is not instant so almost like a cool down. You say that you did not use a medkit? Could I ask how this happened? You went to use one but had not used one previously? I have not managed to reproduce this issue.
