Can capture entire enemy grid from one hacked block - Learning to Survive

Selben Antonias shared this bug 5 years ago
Won't Fix

I have been playing the Learning to Survive scenario for the first time in the release version. After sneaking past the turrets on the Pirate Drone station (the Combat section), I was able to grind down a single sliding door, access the control panel and then simply select every single block on the grid at once and transfer ownership to myself. I only ground down one block (the sliding door) and got full control.

I was then able to convert the whole station to a ship and sail it back to the starting platform to grind down for free components.

Two points:

  1. I am assuming you shouldn't be able to do this (transfer ownership from only one hacked block), and it is a bug. I tried to look for a similar bug report but didn't see one. I vaguely recall someone reporting something similar in older versions, however.
  2. If it is a feature (which I doubt) then for the purpose of the scenario task the turrets don't count as disabled until you grind them down, even after you have transferred ownership and switched them off using this 'exploit'.

I am not sure if this is specific to the scenario or a general problem with the game, as I haven't played any other games/scenarios since release.

Just after posting this, I spotted a similar report from a few weeks ago here:

https://support.keenswh.com/spaceengineers/general/topic/able-to-claim-ownership-of-all-blocks-in-an-enemy-grid-through-a-single-hacked-or-unowned-block

So please ignore this one and vote for that. But I confirm this bug still seems to exist post-release, so the release version doesn't seem to have fixed it.

Hello, Engineers!

After looking closely into this, we are not able to reproduce it on newer versions of the game.

Will close this thread.
