Bullets damage penetrates sloped block edges

I've noticed the following happening a lot:

If I have a block setup like this:

 1H
2C

ojs9iyB

Where 1 is a 2x1 tip slope (half block slopes down to nothing, 22.5 degrees), 2 is a 1x1 Slope (full block slope, 45 degrees), H is a half block and C is a conveyor junction. The attached picture illustrates the joint in question, there's a conveyor box directly under the tip slope.

I've been noticing if I get hit with gatling or int turret fire (explicitly not missile), the conveyor box tends to take a lot of damage under there, even if there is minimal or no deformation other than dents further forward on the nose. I can also target and repair the conveyor box from outside the ship by aiming at the joint between the two blocks. The half blocks are heavy armor, the full angle and the conveyor are not.

I was also able to reproduce it by aiming an assault rifle at the seam and firing - If I'm precise enough, the conveyor box will take damage but the armor doesn't.

Expected behavior:

Blocks hidden behind other blocks are only damaged after the block hiding them is removed.

Actual behavior:

The block that is hidden behind another block is damaged if the projectile hits near the "seam" of the armor (the grey strip of metal that joins two block edges). I was also able to reproduce this with a construction of a full slope (2 45 degree blocks) with a heavy armor block joining the rear of the slope, so there was no edge marker. It appears that the hitbox of the block behind/under the slope blocks sticks out beyond the corners of the slope blocks.

This appears to have been resolved in the block collision model updates.
