Black Screen after starting SE

After I click play on steam it starts up SE and puts me into full screen and it is just a black screen, I can move my cursor and I cannot hear anything. I've tried updating all drivers, editing the config file, going to a lot of support pages on steam and support pages here but nothing works. After I restart my computer and I startup SE it goes to the video where the Space engineers create the Keen Software House logo then it goes to main menu BUT I cannot click anything, if I restart the game it will just put me at a black screen again. Helped is appreciated thanks. :)

Just installed my new 5700 XT (latest Radeon drivers) and loaded SE for the first time since hardware change = almost instant black screen. Had to reboot PC to clear.
Tuning all settings down to Medium and turning grass/tree sliders all the way off seems to fix problem.... but I was hoping to play the game on High settings :/

This issue for me seems to be sporadic, haven't tried changing any settings. That is an unacceptable fix for those of us with the issue, but is a good temp workaround. I use a Nvidia 980 ti with a ryzen 3 cpu. settings are mainly high with medium view distance. Sometimes the game will load but do so in slow motion. 3-5 minutes for the black screen to go away, and main menu is presented. Then things are fine.
