Antennas and Beacons still works in distance like Sync Distance


it's right for it?


for ex. When I set 50 km distance on Beacon/Anntena other player can see it only if distans between he and me is 3 km (Sync distance)

Some more details on how to reproduce this bug:

  1. Start a new DS save using the Easy Start Earth, leave all settings on their default value.
  2. Fly away from the station until you're >3km out.
  3. Build something containing an Antenna or Beacon.
  4. Return to the station - Signal is still visible.
  5. Reconnect to the server - Signal disappeared.
  6. Fly within sync distance (3km) - Signal is back.
  7. Stop server and change sync distance to 10km - Signal shows up without flying closer.

This makes it really difficult to navigate between stations without using GPS.

Yeah, they really need a 'transmitters override sync distance setting' option.

Noticing this on official Keen servers. Makes it really hard to remote control anything more than 3 km away.

I was able to reproduce it with reproduction steps from @InfiniteZero, thank you!

I created a ticket for the issue and someone will look at it.

This issue still exists in 1.188.

Since cargo ships are now available without the experimental mode this bug also prevents players from even seeing them most of the time since their flight path rarely gets them within 3 km of the player.

Same with encounters, especially pirate stations, which may spawn drones (experimental!) from antennas that the player can't even see, resulting in unexpected attacks with no visible source.
