batteries not charging through connectors after reloading the game

S/V Firefly shared this bug 3 years ago
Solved

Good evening,

I am running my save in experimental mode to allow scripts and a few other things. no mods.

I can build a small grid quite happily and have it charge it's batteries through a connector fine, until I close the save, and re-open it. After that point the grid no longer charges through the connector built to it. I have not investigated wether grinding the connector below hack, and back up, or completely away, repairs this issue.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for contacting us. Could you please provide us with a blueprint of your grid (or a save of your world) where you are experience this issue? Any additional information will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I wasn't sure how to actually get a copy of the save file to upload, but it is published on my steam workshop as is at this moment here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2279262118

I have discovered that if I destroy then rebuild the connector on a small grid, I can then charge that grid from my main grid with no issues, until I close and re-open the game again. it seems that on loading there is a glitch that causes all existing connectors to not allow charge to flow from large grids to small grids. I have not checked between two small grids as yet.

Hello!

Thank you for your world. Unfortunately I wasn't able to reproduce your issue. Both Batteries were still charging after Save and Reload. Here's a video. Could you please provide me a video as well to better understand your issue? Thank you.

Hi Katerina,

I just went to record what was happening, and lo and behold it's decided to play ball, no idea why. I could post the 17 minute video (I'm no video editing wizz so no idea how to go about increasing the playback speed at all), however I don't think it'll do much to help this. Should I experience the issue again, I'll be sure to record it and post a video with my future bug report.

Thanks for investigating,

Ewan
