Asteroid changed shape and ruined my base

landed on an asteroid, loaded back in and the asteroid is now a different shape with most of it destroying and inside of me base.. I tried multiple different saves and its the same thing. WTH is this? It completely ruined the game for me, I spent hours and hours building this and its ruined.
