Antennas in multiplayer have infinite range for host

While i am hosting a game in SE for my friends I can see their antennas broadcasting way farther away than i am supposed to be able to. The range they have their antennas to varies, but i am currently 500km away and can still see their broadcasts.
This has happened while they are in my faction and when they created their own faction.
It sometimes resolves itself after restarting the game, but seems to randomly happen and does not go away until i restart again.
This is very irritating when we are trying to be enemies and not know where eachother are.
to be clear, only I the host can see their antennas, noone else on my game can.
Edit:
It does seem to go away after awhile without restarting, but will come back again randomly.
