Alt-MMB pushes components through sorter wrong way

I have setup:

Main Storage----Sorter>---Small cargo--connector

Sorter is set to blacklist with the list empty. If I use alt-middle mouse button to deposit items at the collector they go right past the sorter in the wrong direction into main storage. I have checked that I can't drag items from the small cargo or the connector back to main storage.

edit: after further testing I found that no matter what the sorter settings I could push the components past the sorter in the wrong direction using alt-mmb except for one interesting case. With the sorter set to blacklist components the components would DISAPPEAR! They are not in either cargo container. I set up a test case in a different save that was

Cargo 1-----Sorter>------Cargo 2

I got all the same results including disappearing components with the sorter set to blacklist them.

I'm having the same problem. I was about to file a bug report myself, so I'll just add it here instead in case its useful.

The picture shows a small cargo container and an assembler each with a sorter for input and output all connected to a conveyor junction.

  • The sorters for the cargo container are both set to whitelist computers.
  • The input sorter for the assembler is set to whitelist ingots, and the output sorter is set to blacklist ingots.
  • In the center, on top of the junction, is a small nuclear reactor.

With only ore and turret ammo in my inventory, when I use Alt-MMB to deposit items through the storage port on the small nuclear reactor, the ore fills the inventory of each sorter, and the ammo gets put into the assembler output storage space. Manual transferring the items does not allow this to happen.
