Airtightness in room with catwalks and windows.

Hello i'm having an issue with airtightness. I build a small mining ship in creative, and I was able to jump into the flight seat, and see i am in a oxygen filled room. However with the same ship in a surivial world I can not get oxygen while sitting in any seats even when the ships is airtight, and filled with oxygen. I always have to keep jumping out of my seat to get oxygne. The ship i build using block, and catwalks also with widnws block to keep it airtight, but for some reason you do not get oxygen when sitting in any seats.
