Multiplayer Exploit Havok Physics Clusters Expose Player Locations

A client-side exploit allows players to enumerate Havok physics clusters in multiplayer and convert their coordinates into usable in-game GPS markers.

Using a modified client/plugin, I have verified that cluster information can be accessed and translated into GPS coordinates, potentially revealing the locations of other players and their grids without conventional detection methods.

Fix it.

It's becoming increasingly obvious that some players are using unintended methods to locate grids hidden in the vast emptiness of space, where the chances of stumbling upon something by sheer coincidence are practically nonexistent, especially when the owner has taken precautions not to reveal their position.

In-game chat only adds to these suspicions, particularly when certain players openly discuss having entire lists of grids they intend to visit and raid. It raises a legitimate question: How are they obtaining these locations in the first place?

Then there's the apparent ability to print entire ships without consuming the required materials, something that, from what I've heard, server administrators are already aware of, including the identity of the player allegedly responsible. Cough, cough. If that's the case, it raises some serious questions about why a known offender is seemingly allowed to continue exploiting the game and ruining the experience for other players without consequences.

At some point, these things become difficult to dismiss as mere coincidence. Whether it's exploits, unauthorized tools, or other unintended mechanics, such behavior seriously undermines the integrity of official PvP servers.

The best way to eliminate exploits, in my opinion, is to attempt to replicate and then make the exploit public. Of course you will always get players crying in chat (so hard) and maybe even get a bad reputation - but historically these exploits get fixed.
