adjust the hinge axis

if the hinge is rotated by -90, 0 or 90 degrees, then the blocks attached to the hinge practically coincide with the blocks of the grid on which the hinge stands.

BUT this prevents the merge block from sticking to the second merge block.

it is necessary to adjust the hinge block so that it is possible to connect the parts in 1 grid

You can never merge like this. Hinge and hinge part will try to occupy the same block space on the same grid. You need the hinge part to remain on a subgrid when merging. In other words, you can't merge it back into the same grid, you will need at least one more additional hinge or any other mechanical block that creates a subgrid. For example: grid_A->hinge_base->hinge_part->grid_B->rotor_part->rotor_base->grid_A.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.)) I am aware that it is necessary to move the hinge along the axis so that the connection block combines everything into one common structure. Therefore, there was a proposal to the developers to fix the hinge so that the blocks on its head could connect to the mesh for fastening.
