Be advised that this is not a bug. The game mechanics state that radiation damage is negated by being in a pressurized volume inside a fully airtight grid. You are using an Open Sloped Cockpit, which is only airtight if you build a pressurized room that encloses it, and the cockpit serves as the "forward wall". Revise your vehicle design so that the rear compartment that the Open Sloped Cockpit is fully airtight. If you need an illustration to help you understand, let me know.
