Player Taking Ice Damage Inside of New Cockpit

Investigating

Hello! I was driving my rover on Triton with the new DLC cockpit (Open Sloped Cockpit). This is a small grid rover and I am using the Open variant of the cockpit. I have a screenshot of my sitting inside of my rover, in the cockpit while driving, and the text stating that I took damage is present, along with a reduction in my health being visible. This only happened about 3 times while I was driving. Don't know if this is a bug or not, but I just wanted to spread awareness.

Also, I really love the game and can't wait for SE2, keep up the good work and much love!

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for reaching out to us on our Support Forum.

We tried to reproduce the issue on our side, but we were unable to experience the same behavior. Could you please provide us with some additional details?

Did the issue occur in a modded world/server or in a vanilla (unmodded) one?

If it occurred in a modded world/server, could you please create a blueprint of your grid, paste it into a new vanilla (unmodded) world, and check whether the issue still occurs there?

If the issue persists, please send us, a screen recording/video showing the issue, along with the vanilla world save in which the issue can be reproduced. If possible, please also include the exact steps you are following that lead to the issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards,

Andrew, the Open Sloped Cockpit is open to the environment unless you wall off the space behind it. You are suffering "hail" damage, which is actually a Weather Effect in a cold biome. (There aren't really projectiles coming "through" the window, you simply need to seek shelter in a pressurized space.)

Weather Effects are neutralized by being in a pressurized grid. Either use the closed version of the new sloped cockpit or revise your vehicle design so that the rear compartment is actually airtight.

Thank you.

Hi, sorry, I can finally reply. I haven't had and Internet the past week, so I will be doing my trials this weekend.

To answer a few questions:

-Modded world: yes

-Rover being pressurized: yes, I built the rover to have a fully sealed interior. I will reverify the integrity of my grid

I will also be sharing a copy of my rover on the workshop so others can investigate as well.
