All Station NPC Engineers Vanished

Investigating

First time loading into a save post-1.210 update and I noticed in a space station trading outpost that all of the roaming NPCs appear to have vanished from the station. Not really game-breaking as the station NPCs don't really "do" anything, but definitely weird and a bit creepy. I've been to this station dozens of times to trade and whatnot and always have been full of engineers before today's session.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on our Support Forum.

We tried to reproduce the issue on our side using both your save from the previous game version and a new save in the 1.210 Prosperity Update. In both cases, NPCs were present at the trading stations, so we were unable to reproduce the issue.

Could you kindly provide us with some additional information?

Did the issue occur in a modded world? If so, it is quite possible that one or more of the MODs caused the issue. To verify this, could you please create a new, vanilla (unmodded) world and check whether the issue still occurs there?

If the issue does not occur in a vanilla world, then the MODs are most likely the cause. However, if the issue persists in a new vanilla world as well, please send us the affected world save together with the SpaceEngineers_ log file from the session in which the issue occurred.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,

I do have a couple mods installed on that save. Screenshot of mod list attached.

Testing I've done so far:- New vanilla world: engineers appeared in a planetary station.

- Added back the five mods mentioned 1 by 1 while remaining at the station: engineers remain present.

- Back in vanilla version of the new world - Went far away (80km) and returned, hoping this would trigger some sort of load/unload (I don't know if this is actually how the game function): engineers remain present

- In modded version - left and came back: engineers present.

- Loaded up an old save-as backup of my current main world with the mods disabled before loading it up: All engineers are missing from the planetary station in that save.

- Loaded up an even older backup that literally just had ADQ - Concrete, a block mod that adds 2 types of blocks and nothing else: Engineers are gone

- Loaded up a copy of the backup with ADQ - Concrete removed before loading: Engineers missing

Really not sure what to make of this. Yes there are mods involved, but adding them into a new world doesn't cause engineers to vanish. However, loading a save that had the mods, even if the mods are disabled completely before loading the world up causes the engineers to vanish. None of these mods appear to have anything to do with entities from my point of view. Especially the old backup with literally just concrete blocks added. So far it seems like there is nothing I can do to not have the NPC engineers vanish. Completely removing mods does nothing. Backups that are months old with only one block mod installed at the time - still having the issue.

I attached the TEST2 version of my older backup, which is the version I loaded that had originally had just the concrete mod which I disabled before loading the save.
