Keen official server crashing and rolling back after deleting a grid

Investigating

I am on keen official server #8 US, My friend has a grid he wants to delete, he tried to delete it and the server instantly crashes, we narrowed down the reasons to the new prosperity update, the grid being attached to a hostile grid. He transferred the grid to me and the server still rolled back 20 mins

This also happens when you try to delete a grid connected to a custom controller with rotor/hinge and algae (or solar) array). Here's how to replicate: Create a static grid on the alien planet (for example). Give it wind power and a battery. Add a custom controller and build an algae farm array using a rotor (I only added two algae farms in this example). Add a hinge and then add a camera to point toward the sun. Now go to space (I went to another grid I made there). Go to the Info tab and you will see a couple large grids that have random names like Large Grid 1234 because they are connected to that rotor and hinge and do not inherit whatever you named the alien static grid. If you try to delete one of them the server will crash, everyone will be disconnected, and it will roll back to the whatever the last backup checkpoint was. I can see this quickly being exploited for people who do something destructive and want to roll the server back to a previous state to reclaim their stuff. The only way to safely remove that grid is to return to the planet and cut off its power supply and let the server clean it up. You would think grinding it down would solve the issue but it disconnects everyone as well if you grind any part of those two grids connected to the hinge/rotor. So for now, cut off its power supply, let the server clean it up and hopefully Keen can fix before it gets exploited too badly.

I think this might have been fixed in today's patch 1.210.012. Stability fix:

  • Fixed a crash when a sun tracking construct was removed

Hello Engineers,

Thank you for reaching out to us on our Support Forum.

The servers were going through a patch as part of the hotfix that was released yesterday.

Could you please check again and let us know if you are still experiencing the same issue?

Kind Regards,
