Update has made Clang extra frisky

Investigating

Yesterday, a couple of hours after the update, I went onto UK1 and took my Klingon Bird of Prey out on a little mission.

First jump, the Rotarran was crippled 34km from its destination, completely unmovable, until I disconnected from the controls and found myself floating in space at the right destination with the Rotarran's primary docking rotor. Except I wasn't getting sun exposure and I was confined within an invisible room. So I relogged, it had indeed transported the whole ship to the right location but had been rendering it wrong.

I jumped back home not long after and heard this strange vibratey clanging noise. Not the usual one. Both of the guns were shuddering quite violently. I had a look in their settings and ended up adjusting quite a few things, but they kept clanging worse and worse, so I flew into the safe zone to stop them from shaking apart. Then I noticed something even more fun... it wasn't just the Rotarran's guns, it was every subgrid in the area. Shuddering like they were in a 12-point quake.

My factionmate thinks that one was a lag issue, but it's worth letting you guys know.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for the additional information.

We were able to reproduce the severe subgrid shaking and collision issue after using the Jump Drive, and it has been reported in our internal system for further investigation.

Regarding the separate position/render desync you described after the jump, could you please provide the following:

  • The saved world in which the issue occurred
  • The relevant logs
  • Any blueprints involved, if available
  • Detailed reproduction steps and the exact circumstances leading up to the issue

Please also include any additional information about the server setup, the ship configuration, and whether the issue was resolved only after reconnecting.

Kind regards,

Keen Software House QA Department

I believe they changed how rotors and hinge heads are placed after a jump. They reorient them to zero before loading the grid in. Then the physics system freaks out.... because blocks are in the same place.

Go back and play the 1.209 version. The game save will be fine again. That's what I've had to do.
