Armor skins that are available on purchase are locked when playing via steam family share

Not a Bug

The problem is simple.

I originally played games on Steam using my dad's steam account - I didn't have my own, it was easiest that way. So, when he bought me a game on steam, he did so on that account. However, I have since made my own, and to prevent having to pay for my games all over again, we set up a steam Family to allow me to access games on his account through mine.

The free armor skins are Steam inventory items, and my account does not have them. I cannot use them normally.

Again, this is a problem, as I HAVE purchased the game, and would prefer not to purchase it again - ergo, steam family to share game libraries.

If it helps resolve this issue, I will provide the link to my steam account.

I am able to hold inventory items for SE on my account, of which, as previously mentioned, does not technically own the game.

Thank you!

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for writing to us.

If a player is using Steam Family Sharing, they will not have access to DLC skins or any other DLC content associated with the owner's account. This is standard behavior on Steam and applies not only to Space Engineers but to all games on the platform. DLCs are considered additional content tied to the primary owner's account and are not shared with other accounts through Family Sharing.

To access those skins and other DLC features, you would need to purchase the DLC on your own Steam account.

You can learn more about Family Sharing on Steam Support page.

Since this is not a bug, we will be closing this ticket for now. If you encounter any other issues, please feel free to reach out to us again.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
