Issues with trying to paste a block

I was attempting to paste a block in creative mode due to accidentally deleting a block on the Red Station map, but when I pasted it, it trapped me inside of the station blocks and then shot me out into space a short distance. I am not sure if the interior block skin may have caused this, because I don't own any of the DLCs and it may have prevented me from copying the block correctly and caused this bug.

Can you please specify more what exactly you were trying to do and how?
Ideally seeing it on video would help.
Please also note, that when aiming on block that is part of a grid, the whole grid is copied (and thus then pasted), not just the single block that you are aiming at. From your description, it seems like you copied whole grid and then pasted it onto yourself and the original grid. That might lead to the issue you observed.
Can you please try to do the same action but before pasting it, get some distance from the original grid, so you will pass it into the space and not at/near and occupied area?
