Cockpit bug
When a cockpit is destroyed, at least on console if not pc, there is a chance for players to be booted into spectator and/or have the "leave cockpit" indicator permanently on your screen. Occasionally, I've been completely locked into spectator, causing me to be locked out of playing until an unsaved restart of the game. If you don't get locked out of the controls, the "leave cockpit indicator" starts to stack as more cockpits get destroyed, which sucks for pvp because after the third death my screen is covered in them. This bug is very inconsistent, sometimes it never happens, but once it starts happening it usually keeps happening until you unload the world. I sadly did not have the idea of taking a screenshot, but I hope this issue isn't too hard to work out.

Do you mean when *any* cockpit in the game/on the server is destroyed? Or cockpit, that you are sitting in? Or any other in the game, when you are sitting in another?
If there are any steps to reproduce, that we can follow, please share us those, so we can try on our side.
Also please share us a screenshot or ideally video of this problem triggering and happening on your side.
