Online Server Spawn Glitch

Investigating

When attempting to join hosted games or online servers, I am unable to properly spawn. I have a camera view stuck in a fixed point, able to rotate around, but cannot see or spawn anything. When attempting to open admin menus, no menu is visible. No spawn menu is visible. No other actions can be taken. I do not know what is causing this.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out on the forum.

Could you please share a bit more information regarding this issue?

Is the server you are hosting or trying to join modded (with active MODs)? If so, could you try joining a vanilla (unmodded) server, such as one of Keen’s Official Servers, or any other unmodded server, and check whether the issue still occurs there?

If the issue does not occur on a vanilla server, it may be related to the MODs used on your server or the one you are attempting to join.

Additionally, could you please check with the other players on the server whether they can see you listed in the server’s Online Player list? If your character appears there, you may ask the server admin to remove it via the Admin Screen by navigating to Entity List > Characters and removing your character from the server. After that, please try joining the same server again and see if the issue is resolved.

If the issue still occurs, on a vanilla/unmodded server or on your own hosted server, please send us your latest log file from the time the issue occurred, so we can investigate further.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

We would also appreciate it if you could share a screen recording/video showing the issue as well on the server you're trying to join.

Kind regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department

Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, the issue persists on vanilla servers as well. I've done the standard checks; validating files, reinstalling, etc. These have also failed to work. I fear it may have something to do with my internet. It's a service provided through the apartment complex I live in, and has been identified by a few sites as a VPN. I don't have any ability to make changes to the settings on this internet service as well, due to its origin.

As for the log files, what is the specific file name that we're looking for? There's quite a few under the Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.
