[1.208.015 b0] LightingComponent does not seem to load correctly in survival on custom blocks.

Investigating

I have been testing the Lighting Component in the EntityComponents and have found repeatly that in Creative Saves the component will load fully and provide controls to a custom block, but in Survival Saves the controls do not show.

This is frustrating as I know the controls work in creative and would like to control this in survival.

I have attached 2 images. 1 is in creative and the other is the same block but in a survival world.

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for the report and for sharing the screenshots.

To help us better understand the situation, could you please confirm whether you are the creator of this custom block/MOD (Rotary Airlock Door), or if it is a Steam Workshop MOD created by another author?

If it is a Workshop MOD created by someone else, please note that we don't provide support for MOD-related issues. It’s the MOD creator’s responsibility to maintain and update their MOD to ensure compatibility with the latest game version, so we recommend reaching out to the MOD author on MOD's Steam Workshop page.

However, if you are the MOD’s creator, we may request some additional information to investigate this further.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind Regards,

Hi,

It is a mod created by myself, the Warfare Rotary Airlock mod. I initially had another's mod creator script to add the lighting component to the mod but was then advised that as of the Apex update the Lighting Component is now apart of the vanilla game and comes with controls that I wanted to implement a clean vanilla method so I can publish the mod for Console users as well.

My qualm is that the controls mainly show up in a fully creative world and hardly in a survival world, almost never to be honest and this defeats the object of the lighting component being available without allowing the player to control the colour. If the control could be universal for both creative and survival even an extra parameter in the sbc file like <SurvivalControlInTerminal>true</SurvivalControlInTerminal> would give mod creators an option to allow players more autonomy over playing with mods.

Kind Regards,

Substicious
