Ship disintergration when pasted in the ground

Allright, so i don't know if it is just from the newest update, or if its from before that.
But before, i used to be able to take a ship, ctrl+X it, then paste it in the ground and it became a station. simple as that, its really great for making some lore scenarios, anyways, now whenever i try this, whatever blocks are in the ground, just disintergrate and destroy the voxels with them.
Then again, this might just be how its supposed to be, idk
