Deposit all function and Alt + mousewheel shortcut
Deposit all function was changed in the Core Systems update and there are few bugs I want to point at.
1. It deposits bottles although it clearly should not.
2. Alt + mousewheel shortcut doesn't do exactly what the button in the inventory screen does. When you deposit items using the button, it is deposited in the inventory you are interacting with or (when it is full) in the nearest one with free space.. However shortcut seems to prefer inventories which were constructed first on the particular grid. Let's assume we have three inventories and sorter arranged like on the picture. Container B was constructed first then A, sorter and C. Sorter allows just ores. When you deposit stone and steel plates to any container using button, everything is OK. The same when you use shortcut on container B. But when you use shortcut on container A, everything is deposited to the container B. When you use shortcut on container C, stone is deposited to the container B and steel plates are in the sorter inventory. That's clearly bad. At least for me. However, everytime I switch the sorter off and on this behaviour changes. This causes serious problems in more complicated systems. Please adjust the shortcut to do exactly what the button in the inventory screen does.
3. Deposit all now deposits even tools. That means everytime I mine some ores or grind a blocks and deposit it anywhere, I have to subsequently pull back all my tools. It's uncomfortable at least. Deposit all should deposit all except tools, weapons, bottles, consumables (not seeds) and ammunition for handheld weapons (not sabots, shells, autocannon magazines). Maybe it could even deposit ammunition for weapons you haven't in characters inventory.
I have the same bug
Hello Michal,
Thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.
We tested the "Deposit All" behavior on our side - both using the button in the Terminal button and the Alt + MMB shortcut - and everything seemed to work as expected on our side.
The issues you’re describing (bottles being deposited, the shortcut behaving differently than the button, tools getting deposited, etc.) suggest there might be something specific in your setup that’s causing it.
Are you using any mods in that world? If possible, please try the same actions in a brand-new vanilla (no mods) world and see if the problems happen there as well. This would really help us understand whether it’s mod-related or if something else is going on.
If this problem happens in vanilla world for you as well, please share us the affected world and steps to reproduce the issue, or video of your actions before and when the issue occurs.
You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
