No respawn points for spawned worlds

Won't Fix

Hi, so I started a server with HostHavoc a few days ago and finally got it running with mods and I replaced all the worlds in the server but now I don't have any spawn options for any of those worlds. I don't want to make it so everyone HAS to start in space and travel to the planets (since it can spawn you thousands of even hundreds of thousands of kilometers from the planets). I figured y'all would be able to help me with this but I figured it had to do with my server settings not updating the planet locations for spawn so I contacted HostHavoc first and they said its more of an in game issue rather than server.

Hello Ricky,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

The issue you’re seeing, 'no respawn options appearing after replacing your worlds' is usually caused by the save file still using old planet and spawn data from before the world was replaced.

When planets or world files are swapped manually, the server may keep the old metadata. This makes the game think you’re too far from any valid spawn zone, so no planetary or ship spawns appear.

Since the world was replaced, it’s very likely that:

  • Planet positions no longer match the stored metadata, or
  • One of the MODs is overwriting respawn ship definitions.

Please try the following steps one by one, checking the result after each step:

Check for Mod Conflicts

  1. Temporarily disable all MODs.
  2. Restart the server and try joining.
  3. Check if respawn options (respawn ships/planetary spawns) appear.

If spawn ships/planetary spawns appear after disabling MODs, then one of the MODs is conflicting.

Regenerate Planet & Spawn Metadata

If the server thinks you are extremely far from planets (even thousands of km), the game removes all spawn options.

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Open your world save folder.
  3. Delete the file: SANDBOX_WorldMetadata.sbm (if present).
  4. Delete the VoxelCache folder.
  5. Start the server again.

Why this helps:

The server rebuilds GPS data, planet distances, and spawn regions, fixing mismatches caused by world replacement.

This can also help, Make Sure Respawn Ships Are Enabled

  1. Stop the server.
  2. Open your world folder and locate Sandbox_config.sbc.
  3. Search for this tag:
    <EnableRespawnShips>false</EnableRespawnShips>
  4. Change it to:
    <EnableRespawnShips>true</EnableRespawnShips>
  5. Save the file and restart the server.

If this setting was disabled, no respawn ships will appear at all, even if everything else is correct.

Please let us know if any of these helped.

Kind Regards,
