My space engineer has a limp.

Solved

Currently experiencing a stagger in SE when you try to walk my guy around? He moves like he's skipping, and I have to tap shift to get him to run smoothly. Did the usual mod removal and file verifications, and a recent reinstallation, but it is present in a fresh start as well, and nothing connected that could be considered a different controller.

I am currently playing version 1.207.022 and have tried to attached a copy of the fresh start game that I mentioned above, but your system keeps coming back with incorrect file type. Could you let me know what file I need to send?

Hello John,

Thank you for reaching out to our forum with this problem.

Could you please provide us with a bit more information so we can better understand the issue?

  • Does this problem occur in one specific world or in multiple worlds?
  • Does it happen when playing online or in offline/solo mode?
  • Does the character move like this constantly, or does it behave normally until something specific triggers the issue?
  • Is there any difference when walking on armor blocks versus voxels (asteroids or planets), or does the surface type not matter?
  • You mentioned a modded world and a freshly started one - do I understand correctly that the problem also occurs in a completely new and vanilla (no mods) game, right after starting it?

Please also share one of the affected save files and, if possible, a video demonstrating the problem so we can investigate further.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

So, apparently, I'm an idiot. First thing you do when a periferal goes down is check the plugs. What's the one thing iI didn't do?

Check the plug.

Unplug the keyboard, count 10, plug it back in. Works smooth as silk. thanks for the help, fellows. Duly appreciated.
