Half Algae Farm - Attaching anything near sides breaks functionality

NovaEngie shared this bug 21 days ago
Solved

Attaching solar panels or anything else near (not necessarily on) the sides of the Half Algae Farm causes it to lose efficiency and not work. Both sides of the pictured array should be working with identical efficiency, yet the one on the right is at 0% and not working at all. I have tried positioning the solar panels differently, attaching both directly to the edges and fully to the rearmost edge of the block behind the Algae Farms. It seems that if there is anything near the sides, they lose efficiency and stop working.

Did you accidentally select the wrong faces for functionality on these blocks? It should just be front and back, like a solar panel.

Hello, Engineer!

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues.

Unfortunately we've been unable to reproduce the issue on our side. Could you please attach the world save to this thread? World saves are located in C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. It would really help us reproduce and report the issue.

Kind Regards

Heads up, your site likes to bug out when posting or commenting with inline images. Loses both the image and the text.

The problem went away on its own, right about the time you posted that reply. It survived several real-life days and multiple game restarts, and I can't attribute it to any mods I was running. Just a very strange glitch.

Hello Engineer,

Thanks for letting us know! That does sound like a strange glitch. Since it went away on its own after a while, it may have been a temporary issue rather than something caused by your mods or setup.

If it happens again, you can try uploading your images or saves through Google Drive and sharing the link instead. That way, nothing gets lost if the site runs into posting issues.

As the issue seems resolved now, I’ll go ahead and mark this ticket as solved. Please don’t hesitate to reach out again if it comes back.

Kind Regards,
