Game Version: Space Engineers – Apex Survival Update (09-08-2025)

Map Type: Star System

Description:

When creating a custom Star System world, changing the World Size option from Unlimited to any finite value (e.g., 10km, 50km, 100km) prevents all spawn methods from working. The game loads successfully, and the world generates normally, but the player cannot spawn — neither at respawn ships nor with Respawn in Suit, even when the option is enabled. The only way to enter the world is through Spectator Mode.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start a new Star System custom world.
  2. Set World Size to any finite option (10km, 20km, 50km, 100km, etc.).
  3. Leave all other settings at default.
  4. Launch the world.

Observed Result:

  • “Respawn in Suit” appears in the menu but does not function (spawning is blocked).
  • No respawn ships or other spawn points are available.
  • Player can only access the world in Spectator Mode.
  • The generated Star System appears fully functional (planets, asteroids, and stations are visible and behave normally in Spectator).

Expected Result:

  • Players should be able to spawn via respawn ships or respawn in suit, regardless of chosen world size.

Additional Notes:

  • The issue was first encountered with mods active. To eliminate conflicts, I unsubscribed from my full modpack list and tested again with only blueprints and scripts subscribed. No mods were selected in the world’s Mods section. The bug persisted.
  • Setting World Size to Unlimited resolves the issue; spawning works as intended.
  • The problem occurs consistently across multiple attempts, with both default and customized settings.
