Can you please specify more, what is happening?
Is the mentioned friend's world, the only world, that is affected? All the other options (single player, multiplayer - community dedicated servers or officials...) are working for you? Are you able to load in/connect and play properly?
Does this problem also happen the other was around, when you would start the Lobby game and your friend would join... that is working, or you are experiencing the same problem?
Are there any mods active on the mentioned affected world? If yes, can you try to join a new unmodded world, that would your friend start, and see if the problem persists also on new world without any mods?
Please share us also the log file from affected game session.
You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
