Need More Information

I`ve been playing SE on Dedicated server with my friend for about 40 hour with no problem. One day after starting the pc and dedicated server i couldn`t see the server in server list. Its is in local list but still cant join it. In console it says that the server is running and everything is loaded. I`ve tried one of your answers to the common question. Actually I haven`t changed any options since first start of the server. It just stopped working at one moment

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.

Could you please provide me with more details?

What exactly happens when you try to join? Is there any error pop-up? Are you taken back to the main menu?

Do you see any errors or exceptions in the log files corresponding to the date and time of the join attempts?

On your image from the DSGUI console, I can see the error: "Remote API unable to start. Run dedicated server in administrator mode or use AllowRemoteHttp.bat file..."

Are you sure you are running the dedicated server in administrator mode?

If you are using Steam, when starting the DS app, please make sure to press the "Run as admin" button on the right side above the "Exit" button.

If you are running the app using the icon/.exe file, please right-click it and choose the "Run as administrator" option.

If none of these options work for you and you still experience the same problem, please provide us with full steps to reproduce the issue, along with a video recording of the entire process (starting the server, attempting to connect with the client, etc.) and the log file from the affected session, for both - the client, and the DS/DSGUI - as well.

You can access your game/client log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar, which will take you to the hidden Roaming folder. From there, follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

For accessing your DS/DSGUI log files also type %appdata% into your Windows search bar, which will take you to the hidden Roaming folder. From there, follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated. From this folder, sent both DS and DSGUI logs.

Thank you in advance, and please let me know about your current situation.

Kind Regards

Even after starting DS app as admin nothing changed. And it seems to me that there is no error while loading server or after it.

After shutting the server console shows this error : src\clientdll\contentupdatecontext.cpp (2037) : Install library folder not found

Hello Engineer,

Thank you for the detailed information. Could you please try launching the dedicated server with any default world and without the mods?

Could you please also let us know what happens when you attempt to join the server via the LAN tab of the Join Game screen? If possible, please also provide the client log from the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder

Kind Regards

Thank you for helping me. I`ve tried launching the dedicated server with default world and had the same problem. Also after attempting to join the server via the LAN tab nothing happened. Pressing the server and literally nothing happened. I`ve attached the latest log file but not sure about it. And i`ve searched for this kind of problem in the internet and it said that the problem might come from some steam workshop conflict. Still I`m not sure about that.

Hello Engineer,

Let's try the following steps:

  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg in the AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers and restart the game
  • Alternatively, back up folders Save, Mods and Blueprints by copying them elsewhere from the same folder and then delete the whole folder and restart the game

Kind Regards
