If we understand correctly, you're hosting a server that no longer shows up for your friends, is that so?

To help us investigate further, could you let us know whether you're hosting the server using a third-party hosting service or the Space Engineers Dedicated Server manager?

Also, did the issue start recently (such as after adding any MODs or making other changes to the server settings), or has it been happening without any changes?

Are you able to join your own server, either through the in-game 'Join Game' screen or by using Direct Connect?

And when your friends try to join via Direct Connect, do they receive any error message?

This information will help us better understand the issue and provide possible solutions.

i am hosting a server through the dedicated server hoster and i added mods months ago but it worked fine. when trying direct connect it just says server unreachable

Thank you for the update!

To better understand what’s going on, could you please send us the latest log file from your dedicated server folder?

You can find it here: C:\ProgramData\SpaceEngineersDedicated\YourServerName\

Look for a file named something like SpaceEngineersDedicated_2025XXXX_XXXXXX.log. The most recent one is the best.

Additionally, it would help if you could let us know:

Are you able to join the server yourself, either via LAN or Direct Connect?
Have there been any recent changes (mods, settings, game or system updates)?
Do your friends always get the exact “server unreachable” message, or is it something else?

If you can also include your SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg file (from %AppData%\SpaceEngineersDedicated), that would be great.

Once we have these details, we’ll gladly take a closer look.

i am able to join the server myself through the servers tab and i recently added 1 mod that i have been using for years other than that there is no change

After reviewing the information, we noticed that your dedicated server is running an older game version (01_204_018) from June 2024. Meanwhile, your client is likely using a newer version, as Space Engineers has received several updates since then.

When game versions between the server and clients do not match (even if no new mods have been added) players may encounter issues such as:

Failing during the final "entity handshake" (the stage where characters, grids, and voxel data are synchronized)
Getting stuck at 100% loading or dropping back to 50% and freezing

To ensure successful connections, all clients and the server must be on the exact same game version.

Steam may update client versions automatically, while the server remains on an older version. This can cause version mismatches that prevent players from joining.

To resolve this:

Update your dedicated server via Steam:
Open Steam → Right-click Space Engineers Dedicated Server → Properties → Betas → Beat Participation → Set to "None".
Update all clients:
All players should verify their game is fully updated. Go to Steam → Right-click Space Engineers → Properties → Betas → Beat Participation → Set to "None".
Check MOD compatibility:
Ensure all mods are up to date and supported by the current game version.
If needed, re-subscribe to mods to refresh local files.
Verify game files in Steam:
This helps detect and repair any corrupted or missing files. Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files (Repeat same steps for the Space Engineers Dedicated Server in Steam Library)

Before attempting to join again, make sure that:

All players and the server are on the same game version
Mods are up to date and identical on both client and server sides
