Hello Engineer,

Thank you for reaching out. We understand you'd prefer to continue the conversation on Discord, but we kindly ask that you keep communication here on the forum. This helps us better track the conversation, share accurate steps, and ensure your issue is resolved properly.

Regarding your GPU detection issue, here are the recommended steps to force the game to use your NVIDIA GTX 760:

1. Force the game to use your NVIDIA card via Windows Settings

  • Go to Windows Settings → System → Display → Graphics settings.
  • Add SpaceEngineers.exe (you’ll find it in your Steam library, typically under Bin64).
  • Click Options, then select High performance (NVIDIA GTX 760) → click Save.

Launch the game and check if it now detects the GTX 760. If not, continue with the next step.

2. Set your NVIDIA GPU as the default in the NVIDIA Control Panel

  • Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Go to Manage 3D settings → Global Settings.
  • Set Preferred graphics processor to High-performance NVIDIA processor.

3. Disable Microsoft Basic Render Driver (Optional)

This is only needed if the system defaults to the Basic Render Driver, which can interfere with detection.

  • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Display adapters.
  • If you see Microsoft Basic Render Driver, right-click it and select Disable device.

Launch the game again and check if the GTX 760 is now detected.

4. Reinstall NVIDIA drivers with a clean install

  • Download the latest drivers for the GTX 760 from the official NVIDIA website.
  • Start the installer, and choose Custom (Advanced).
  • Check the option for Perform a clean installation, then complete the setup.
  • Restart your PC.

After restarting, launch Space Engineers and confirm whether it now detects the GTX 760.

If the game still doesn’t detect the correct GPU after trying all steps, please let us know.

Kind Regards,
