Sun shines through planets at certain distance

Alex Hostetter shared this bug 21 days ago
Reported

normal settings, reset the cfg file, integrity and standard empty world, spawned in a planet and back up

this is most noticeable when you have planet sizes modded, but even here you can see that the flare from the sun is shining through the planet

I think this is due to the planet surface disappearing after a certain distance? and just the lod being visible so you can still "see" the planet

when closer it blocks light just like you'd expect, with normal planets the light shining around it almost looks as bright at that distance so it seems like it would be not common to really have much of a problem but there should be a solution to not let any light shine through objects at any distance?

hello!

is it any possible that the modder just forgot some attribute of the modded planet to be set properly?

that dot of light reminds me of the Poisson's spot xD

maybe quantum mechanics is implemented into space engineers xD

So I have tested it with many planets, here is just a normal quick start spawn in the pics since I wanted to show it happening in 100% standard, I thought it was a modded bug at first
