Unresponsive Game UI After Merging a Remote Controlled Grid

Corbin Meier shared this bug 43 hours ago
Need More Information

2 small grids. A merge block on each grid. Remote controlling one of the grids. Merge with the other grid. The game does a "Streaming" thing. I am forced out of the remote control block. The game controller becomes completely unresponsive. Things still happen around the player, but there is absolutely no player control. Can't open inventory, can't move the camera, can't fly with WASD, Escape and the Function keys are the only things that work. Exit to main menu and reconnect fixes the issue.

Hello Corbin,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

We attempted to replicate the issue on our end but did not encounter any similar issues. Could you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing?

Does the world or server where this issue occurred have any active MODs? If so, we kindly recommend temporarily removing the MODs or creating a new unmodded (vanilla) world or server to check if the issue persists.

If the issue does not occur in a vanilla world/server, it's likely caused by one or more of the active MODs. Please note that we do not provide support for MODs, as it is the responsibility of MOD creators to ensure compatibility with the latest version of the game.

However, if the issue still occurs in an unmodded (vanilla) world or server, could you please share a screen recording/video showing the issue, the save file of the unmodded (vanilla) world/server, and the log files from the time the issue occurred.

  • You can access your single player world save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves. The Dedicated Server save files can be found in the AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves folder.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching save files or screen recording/videos, you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers. The Dedicated Server log files can be found in the AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
