Event Controller Unlock Connect Not Triggering Actions

steven neiland shared this bug 22 days ago
Solved

Since updating to the latest patch for 1.206 my event controllers are not firing any of the disconnect actions assigned. The "lock" events however are working correctly.

e.g. connector locking will put my batteries on recharge but unlocking will not put it back to auto or discharge. This is is happening for all assigned disconnect events stockpile off thrusters on etc.

I've gone into every event controller of every ship and tried to reassign the actions but no effect.

At risk of telling you how to suck eggs, you have got your disconnect events *after* putting batteries on auto right?

If your events sequence is <connector:disconnect> <Batteries:auto> then the disconnect will cut power to the grid before the next action has time to occur.

From your phrasing it sounds like you did have this working previously so apologies if this isn't your problem.

When I have event controller issues I often find putting the blocks you want to activate into a group, even if it's just one block, can somehow make it work when directly activating the block doesn't.

After further investigation it seems the issue was with attaching to a particular grid. My fueling station (some tanks a battery and some connectors) was showing as powered off. Any ship that attached to it would not fire the undock event controller actions on disconnect.

I eventually just copy pasted the grid and suddenly all the ships event controller worked again when connecting/disconnecting to it.

Why who knows but at least its solved for me...

Hello steven,

thank you for your report of this problem happening on your side.

Happy to hear from your update that after copying the grid, the issue resolved itself.

Since there is no further assistance needed from our side in this case, I will close this thread now.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again, should you experience any other problem with the game.

Thank you for your understanding.

Happy Engineering!
