Turret Controller Conflicts with Event Blocks Causing Game Crash

Malacanth shared this bug 23 days ago
Won't Fix

Take a turret controlled by a turret control block.

Now add 2 Event blocks.

Set 1 event block to turn the Azimuth rotor to 0 when the angle of the azimuth is greater than 0

Set the other event block to turn the Azimuth rotor to 0 when the angle of the azimuth is less than 0.

Now attempt to control the turret manually, the game will start stuttering, freeze and then crash to desktop.

What was being attempted, was an automatic system to face turrets back to a default position when not being directly controlled.

Hello Malacanth,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

We attempted to replicate this issue on our end but did not experience stuttering or crashes. Could you provide more details about the issue?

Did it occur in a modded (has active MODs) or a vanilla (unmodded) world/server?

If the world/server was modded, please check whether the issue persists in an unmodded world as well? If the issue does not occur in an unmodded world, it is likely caused by active MODs. However, if the issue still occurs in a vanilla world, please send us the blueprint of your grid or the vanilla world save file along with the crash log.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,
