Cannot Blueprint Anything Anymore! "The operation failed. Please, try again later."

Need More Information

All of a sudden I am not able to create any blueprint, each time I try I get the error "The operation failed. Please, try again later.", I have tried on official servers and even in singleplayer but the error persists even after restarts, game integrity checks and trying a few days after.

Game client is vanilla with no modification or weird setups.

I am using Steam Cloud to sync my Blueprints and I still have around 100 MB of free space there, I also have free space on my local drives.

Hello creeloper27,

Thank you for reaching out about the blueprint issue. We have tested the blueprint system on our end, and it appears to be working fine, so we were not able to reproduce the problem. To better understand and assist with resolving your issue, could you please provide the following details:

  1. When did this problem first occur? Did you make any changes (e.g., updates, new installations, or settings adjustments) just before it started?
  2. Are you still experiencing this issue up to now, without any changes or improvements?
  3. Have you tried turning Steam Cloud off? If so, are you able to create blueprints locally without the error?
  4. Is the issue only with creating blueprints, or are you also experiencing problems with pasting existing blueprints as well?

Additionally, we would appreciate if you could provide the log file from the game session where you encountered this issue. This will help us analyze the problem more effectively.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

  1. I think this problem started one day after I subscribed to a *LOT* (40+) of steam workshop blueprints all at once, in the same day I also renamed my steam account and custom profile url so that could have caused the problem as well.
  2. I tried deleting from the Space Engineers installation folder `TempContent` and that made it so now if I try blueprinting anything the game freezes slightly and then my blueprint interface opens up as if I just pressed F10, so the problem persists up to now.
  3. I just tried turning Steam Cloud off and that lets me create blueprints perfectly fine locally, unfortunately I usually play on 3 different machines so having Steam Cloud is quite vital for me. Also when I enable Steam Cloud again the local blueprints still show up correctly in the list.
  4. This issue only relates creating blueprints, pasting blueprints works perfectly with or without Steam Cloud.

I also tried removing the following folders from `%appdata%\Roaming\SpaceEngineers`:

`Mods`, `Promo`, `WorkshopBrowser`, `temp`, `PerformanceImprovements`, `ShaderCache2`, `WorkshopWorlds`, `ProfileOptimization`, `Storage`, `cache`

but the behavior didn't change, I do not get the original error anymore (after deleting `TempContent` from the Space Engineers installation folder), the blueprint ui opens and no blueprint is created (if Steam Cloud is enabled).

I attached the 2 latest logs where I tried taking blueprints with Steam Cloud on and off.
