Custom ShipSoundsDefinition are broken

Mike Dude shared this bug 49 days ago
Won't Fix

After the addition of prototech, modded custom ShipSoundsDefinitions do not work properly.

Previously, I was able to use 4 ShipSoundsDefinitions, two for small grid only, and two for large grid only and this worked as expected.

Now, when I add any custom ShipSoundsDefinitions, sounds will either default to vanilla sounds, not play at all, or it will incorrectly mix up the D2 and D3 sounds between multiple ShipSoundsDefinitions. For example while driving a rover seated in a cockpit will play the wrong WheelsEngineRun (D2), but upon exiting while in motion will play the correct one (D3).

Please restore the ability to use custom modded ShipSoundsDefinitions.

Update: This problem happens in both realistic and arcade sound modes, and with speed based ship sounds enabled and disabled.

Hello Mike,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

Just to clarify, does the issue occur when using a specific MOD? Have you experienced the same issue in a vanilla (unmodded) world as well?

If the issue is only happening with a particular MOD, could you please share the MOD with us and the modded world where you encountered the issue, along with the log file from the time this issue occurred?

Additionally, a screen recording/video showing the issue would be greatly appreciated.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
