System.AccessViolationException

Need More Information

I've run into an issue that I've seen people have in the past but I haven't seen any sort of definitive resolution for it. Space Engineers is crashing, randomly, with an error of:

2024-12-18 21:25:28.031 - Thread: 11 -> Exception occurred: System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

I have tried literally every solution that I have found from users on Steam, Reddit and here and to no avail. Attached is the most recent Space Engineers log showing the crash. I've even reinstalled windows, and I still crash. I usually get about 15 minutes of play before the crash happens. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hello, Engineer!

Thank you for writing to us, and we are sorry to hear you're experiencing issues.

Could you please try the following steps/workarounds to resolve this issue:

Verify your game files in Steam:

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files (wait till all the files are verified completely)

Update Sound Drivers:

  • Ensure all audio drivers are up-to-date.

Update your OS to its latest version.

Kind Regards,
