Export model output error
Hi Keen software house,
Recently I tried to export one of the models that my friend has created for 3D printing.
Unfortunately, when I load the resulting .obj file into slicer, the model contains many, many errors. Due to size of the model (it was a large large-grid ship) I've never got anywhere close to repairing it using several tools and utilities.
Could you possibly please check that the export to .obj indeed still works as intended?
Be aware that I did not try with any smaller ship, but I will and will send info to this thread.
As a 3D printing enthusiasts, I love the idea of having the ships 3D printed to sit on my desk, so it would be an immense help if you could look at this.
If you want, I can provide any other information.
Also, a suggestion: It would be great if you could export just the outer shell of the ship for 3D printing, there is usually no need to print the interior. It makes things too complicated, and I did not figure out any good way of handling this (and I will not, until I can get correct .obj file without any errors)
Thanks!
Hello, Engineer!
Thank you for reaching out on our forum. We’re sorry to hear about the issue you’re experiencing.
The export feature works correctly on our side.
Unfortunately models for 3D printing have their own separate set of requirements that is not necessarily the same as for in-game models. It might be required to manually work on the model to make it 3D printing compatible.
Have you tried using a remesh feature in a 3D modelling software such as Blender?
Kind Regards,
